A Study Skills Handbook for Carpenters and Joiners is now available for the first time. The resource is designed for apprentice carpenters and joiners completing Phase 2 of their apprenticeship.
Students with their tutors, Gemma and Ken visited 14, Henrietta St., a grand Georgian House which became a tenement in the 1900’s.
Students from Jan, Rose and Gemma’s classes headed to Trinity College to explore the campus, the Book of Kells and the atmospheric Dining Hall. A wonderful day despite the rain!
Over 200 people attended the initial screening of a documentary about The Forever Young Chorus Finglas in the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield on Monday 3rd December.
Over 200 adult students from the Finglas and Cabra Adult Education Service ranging in age from 18-90 took part in this celebration of the work of community art and craft groups funded and delivered by the CDETB Adult Education Service.

More creative writing competition winners! We had award winners in both DCU and the Sports and Cultural Council (SCC) Creative Writing Competitions.
‘Cúpla Focail’, the CDETB Adult Education Service Irish booklet was launched in Finglas as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge and of the wider celebration of Bliain na Gaeilge.
Rowena shows how her education was giving a reboot in the CDETB Adult Education Centre in Finglas. Rowena went on to complete a BA in Humanities. Rowena is now a learning ambassador for Aontas, the Adult Education Learning organisation.
